Dwarf gourami in 2.5 gallon filtered and heated aquarium
 

I have an aggressive dwarf gourami in a 2.5 filtered and heated aquarium. I was wondering how long I can keep him in there.

Not very long, they need a minimum 10g as they simply don't have the room to swim in a 2.5g tank unless it is a fry basically.

So I should as my local pet shop if they can take him? I would put him in my 29 gallon if I didn't already have a halfmoon betta in there. I learned my lesson the hard way with a beautiful purple and white halfmoon betta being ripped to shreds. Also he nips my platy's to the point of ripped fins

It would be best option and safest for the health of the fish.

I moved the betta out of my community tank and put a few more fake plants in it now he is happy. I haven't seen him nip at my platy's yet
