is it normal for guppies to tread water without moving
Is it normal for guppies to tread water without moving to a different spot, for several minutes at a time? my adult guppies do this a lot. it is new behavior for them (well, I have seen it before but not this much) so I am just curious. I'm not sure if they're scared of something? the babies swim around a lot ... but not the adults...
i have not observed(sp) this in my guppys,
could you say what your water perams are: amonia ect.
i wouldn't have thought that the babies would have made
a difference in the behaviour to be honest.
I turn my light off every night, and my guppies tend to do this when it is bed time.
They pretty much stay in their same spot all night. During the day they are very active.
water parameters are normal except for temperature so i turned up my heater up a few degrees and now they seem a lot happier. still sleep at night but not all the time. the temperature was getting down to 70 degrees at night before. now it is about 75 at night and 78-80 during the day.
glad it'd worked out :)
i didn't think about the temperature,
yes they will do better with the warmer water.
