Let me start by stating I currently use the API liquid tests for all my testing. But as I age I am finding it difficult to distinguish the shades of blue in the ph test. Well today I was in a petsmart for the first time ever and I came across a what I will call a ph disc. This disc stays in the tank of the filter from what I read and contnually monitors ph. I attaches to the glass via suction cup and is marketed by Seachem. The disc would also have to be replaced about every 6 months per the instuctions. Does anyone here have any experiance with these where they can tell me if they are reliable / accurate or not.
Here is a link to what I am talking about.
Seachem. pH Alert
I have not used this product, but I use many that seachem produces. I would have faith in their product, provided its replaced in the time frame they recommend. The thing is, once your aquarium is established, unless your supply water varies, the ph of your tank wont vary much at all. Even if your water supply does fluctuate a little bit, your tank will balance it out, in a healthy aquarium. If youre intent on monitoring your Ph that closely, I have no reason to believe that it would not be a worthy product.
hope that helps :)
