now i am wondering how should i stock it? part of me just wants to buy a betta and call it a day but ht other and maybe larger part of me wants to do something else. If i didnt get a betta what would my stocking options be?

Either / or. I wouldn't recommend both. Too small of a tank.

If you want the extra color go for a betta and some red cherry shrimp. From what i have heard they like moss in the tank though. (the shrimp that is)

COULD it work if the tank was VERY heavily planted?

zacheyp 02-12-2012 05:05 PM

would the main problem be aggression or filtration?

The fact that the tank is only 5 gallons is your problem... that is like a gold fish bowl..
