If everything they need is available, they will grow (photosynthesize) at a rate according to the level of balance of light and all 17 nutrients. Those of us with natural method planted tanks have good but slower growth than those with high-tech methods using increased lighting, CO2, and more nutrient fertilization. But at any stage from slow to fast growth, the plants can still be perfectly healthy.
Increasing any one aspect, be it light, carbon, or some other nutrient, will not normally result in better growth, unless that was the limiting factor to start with. Everything has to be in balance, at whatever level. |
