36 gal bowedtnk hi. just got a new tank its a 36gal bowed front tank. this will be my very fish brackish water tank so i have a few quest. should i have sand or rock for the substrate? im thinking of keeping f8's or green spotted puffers with some bbg's. thanks for the help! |
Personal opinion and its based on what your going to put in it, plants? type of fish? but honestly it can be whatever you want |
i would liketo keep some live plants. also if i do put sand in the tank will it mess up my filter? i have a marineland emporor filter. the guy at the fish store said that sand will ruin the impeller is this true? |
Sand is usually the way to go with brackish. My Dragon Goby loves it! He loves to dig. As long as you don't use a undergravel filter, you should be fine. If you go stirring the sand around or any time there is lots of sand floating around in the water just turn off the filter. As soon as it settles, just turn it back on and re-prime if you have to. I have a fairly new 75g brackish tank. Would love to shoot ideas back and forth!!! |
