Daily Care Questions

Hi there, I just started my first tank and had a couple questions regarding how long I should have a couple things running:

How long should I leave my air pump on per day? Just to make sure, my filter should stay all the time, correct? and lastly, how long should my lighting be kept on? I've been keeping in on for about 12hrs a day (I have 6 live plants atm).

Glad to find this forum. Can't wait to spend more poking around the other topics.

Thanks for all your help

I leave my air pump running 24/7 it hasnt harmed anything plus I have CO2 running just in the day.

Thanks for the welcome Willow :)

Hey Shawn, is the Co2 a requirement? I have a heater, filter and air pump as it is for my tropical fish.

Optional. If you want fast and lush growth of plants, you'll need high lighting and balanced nutrient levels or risk growing species of algae that are quite annoying really.:shake:

If you do this please ensure you have a one way valve. Axminster is not cheap these days.

Wot, wot.
