What do you make of this? Is it actually a cross or are they making things up for a sale? I must admit it does look kinda like something in between the two.

When will humans stop trying to play god and creating such creatures when there are so many beautiful, interesting and moreover natural species already available?

It does look like a hybrid. There are plenty of reports of both catfish crossing with each other.

xingumike 11-07-2007 12:02 AM

not an uncommon hybrid nowadays, they are both Pimelodidae

certainly more common when compared to the amount of people that can house it!

''Aquaculture has also given us hybrids of Red tails and Tiger Shovelnose (Pseudoplatystoma sp.)''
