Upgrading my 10 gallon to a bigger tank
)After a series of crazy events, my salties have perished. :( Tho I have planned with my parents so I have decided to turn my currently unused 55 gallon into a freshwater tank. I shall place my Harlequin Rasboras(8) Black Kuhlis Loaches(2- soon to be 3) a molly fry, a ghost shrimp, and a Plec into it. Im barely gonna start cycling it hopefully in the next couple of days so I might as well record my progress here. Just finished painting the back black. BTW, I am still salty. 29 gallon biocube on the way, and, if possible, a 125 gallon tank instead :D

That's a good start, Tangy.8) I've removed the image codes as those will not work on your image links.
Nice. Looking forward to seeing it progress - I love these threads :)
sorry about the fish,that's a shame. :(

nice even job. i look foreward to seeing updated pics and info :)
thats a big upgrade!
i wish i had a spare 55 tank...
Looking really good. I think you should plant it, add some cories, and slowly find yourself converting to a FW man, rather than a salty!
Just filled it up. The filter was loaded with tons of bacteria so i decided to use most of it. Did not wanna wait for a slow start with foods and didnt wanna put any fish through hell SO...i decided to cycle it with Steve and Hana, my pair of RES Turtles. Safe and easy. The big loads of waste are perfect for a cycle. And my bichir shall now have his own tank for the time being.
No Decor right now. Steve and Hana make mountains of waste so its easier on me for the time. Later i shall place them back in the 10 and place all my current plants.
Steve and Hana enjoying their temporary house :P
And for those who have not yet seen it, this is my current 10 gallon. All this shall be placed in the 55
This would be were this post usualy gets slow, but I am getting a wierd cycle(I guess I foolishly left in too much media from the last tank), and I have no ammonia/small amount of nitrites in my tank as well as nitrates ,wich are going off the charts and above, so here is another. Besides large water changes, I have decided to transfer all the plants from the 10 gallon, save for a small amazon sword, to lower the nitrate levels. I have added 50 pnd's of sand due to impulse(u know what that feels like, you all do :P ) and I have added the rocks from Steves 10 gallon. The bichir still has a month or a little less without rocks so i offered him a few large shells as caves.

Of course I might get the urge to move things around later on if I feel uncomfirtable with this but for the time being all I have my eye on are those nitrate levels :?
Good start. Why is the last pic showing water not at full level?
