My Mono's and my puffers have been in my tank for only about 4 days or so, and they seem to spend alot of the time going up and down the sides of the aquaruim( which is partly reflective) following their reflections, well i thinks thats what they are doing, do they ever get bored of this and used to their reflection or do i have to put something in to stop them seeing it? can anyone advise?
It seems pretty normal to me. My fish do this whenever I approach the tank.
cheers. yer i thought it wud be normal, just was kinda hoping they'd get bored of it.
I feel the fish really don't have much of a reflection to see. I think they see outside of the tank just like we see when we look in. The only reason we see any reflection is because we are seeing the glass at an angle and because we are looking through two pieces of glass. If you were too look through the side of your tank form the inside I don't think there would be any reflection, i think it's just like looking through a window and the fish just want to find a way to get to the area that they are blocked from so they swim up and down to try and make it past the obstacle (glass wall)
