Hello, I thought it was probably about time I signed up instead of just reading the site for advice!
Definitely no expert and have a bit of an eclectic mix of fish at the moment due to buying some possibly poor quality fish and being reluctant to re-create a shoal after some have died (often can't find the same fish twice here anyway). Would be interested to know what other people do when they finally end up with one solitary tetra!
Oldest fish in the tank is a weather loach with a bent tail that we've had for about 2 1/2 years so far, loaches are great :)
Unfortunately had a mystery sudden fish death the other day- my aged guppy and my beautiful long-finned gold ram who were one minute perfectly fine and then found dead the next day, all the other fish are fine and ammonia and nitrites 0 so its all a bit of a mystery :( I can only suspect that there was something in the live food they had the day before or that something toxic somehow got into the tank.
Currently deciding what to replace them with once I have made sure no-one else is going to drop dead...although told that he would be fine (and seemed perfectly well for 2-3 months til the other day!) another gold ram might not be the most compatible, will probably get another oto to keep the two otocinclus company, have had them for nearly 2 years and they're doing well.
Sorry rambling on! That's me anyway :)
It's a tough call what to do with a lone tetra. Do you by chance know anyone else with that kind of fish?
you could always ask your fish store if they would let you trade it in for a fish you do want. usually doesnt hurt to ask the question, just might hurt to hear the response.
welcome to the forum.
hello and welcome. :-D
