worms/parasites in my tank!!!
When I turned on my tank light this morning I notices a lot of little wormy things wiggling around in the water and also my fish's stomachs are a little swollen. Are these parasites??? What is the best way to get rid of them??? How fast will they kill my fish? How did they get there? About how long will it take to get rid of them?
Don't worry about that. They're only planaria. Your fish will eat them. Planaria are harmless little white worms which appear when you overfeed your fish. They will use the extra food for their survival and reproduction.
Controlling the amount of food and good tank maintenance should cut back their population.
YAY nothing serious...whew...I did post a picture up there ^^^ just in case it was something else...THANKS Blue!
Should be planaria if your fish are ok after eating them.:)
how to get rid of them? just minimize feedings? and how to go that without stunting growth of fish?
Thanks Blue! I skipped about 2 days feeding them and they ate all the planaria so now I only see about 1 or 2 once in awhile ploating about. I did a water change and it's all ok now. I didnt know what they were so I kinda freaked out...lol...
p.s. I'm a paranoid fish keeper!
wow feed fish 3 times a day- i feed every other, i must be mean!
