Cycling my 5.5 gallon: is this right?

Hey all,

So I'm cycling a new 5.5 gallon tank. It's been running for about a week now. It's sand substrate, 7 live plants (ferts are: Flourish Comp, I also added two root tabs). Flourish I add once a week. I performed a partial a few days ago, planning on another this weekend. There is 6 White Cloud Minnows in also.

My untreated tap water: PH- 7.6 GH- 25-40ppm (moderatly soft)

I just tested the aquarium water today, results:
PH- 7.6
Ammonia- .25 PPM
Nitrite- 0 PPM
Nitrate- 0 PPM

How does this all sound to you? Where it should be after about a week? This tank is going to be a shrimp only tank. The minnows are going to be moved after cycling.

Suggestions? Comments? Concerns?

That's how my 20g looked after 3 weeks.

The plants are probably taking up nearly everything, and in a battle between plants and bacteria, the plants win. With enough plants, you don't even have to cycle as they'll handle all the Ammonia.

I had 10 plants (3 amazon sword, 6 wiseria, 1 java fern)
