Looks like a round pebble under my tetras' skin
 

It's a black long fin tetra, I've had it and the rest of the tank for about three years. There's a spot on this fish with raised scales and like I stated already it looks like a pebble has been inserted into it's skin. The scales are raised and that's all I see now. The fish is comfortable and is as normal as can be. I have a 55g with an approx count of 45 fish. There are a lot of different sorts of community fish and some oddballs. The sizes range from an inch to 4 inches. It's a well established tank with the residences having been there for nearly the entire time of tank set up. It's freshwater, no one was quarantined and unfortunately I have no space for a quarantine tank unless I find homes for my goldfish.......humm that is a thought....anyway, the temp stays at 76 degrees,I have a Tetra whisper EX70 filter, filter being changed every 8 weeks or so. I'm sure that's not the best way and I'm ashamed to say ...... but that's about the matter of fact of it. I have two bubblers also. I do weekly water changes of 50%, last water change was Monday the 16th. Fish are fed flakes, shrimp pellets, frozen brine shrimp and blood worms and live brine shrimp, ( I change it up everyday, of course not all everyday!) There has been npo treatment and no unusual signs from this particular fish or of the others either.

I can't send Picts, lost the cord in a move two years ago..LOL! Just that fairly round pebble size under the skin that makes the scales stand out. Any ideas would be wonderful!! I'm not a pro in any shape or form and would appreciate any "schooling" I can take hold of. Thanks ahead of time.

my fishes skin. There's a misunderstanding about the goldfish, they are not in the 55g, they have their own tank of which I was thinking of finding them a home and turning that 10 g. into a quarantine tank. I read another thread addressed to the "lump" and trying to match it to the descriptions given, it sounded like there's nothing to really do about it. There are no lesions, or reddness, no white threads or fluid blisters. So, I'll hide and watch to see how things turn out.

Yeah, I posted a thread about a lump. Picture taken from above of my Dwarf neon rainbow is in that one. His was near the tail, but no matter, I think it's some type of tumor, that can happen in fish. Not much to do, unless you want to have a lumpectomy done :lol:
