Blind Dragon Goby?

I just noticed the oddest thing today, and I was wondering if this has ever been seen before. I bought a pair of dragon gobies today, and I'm not sure why I didn't notice this at the store, but when I got home and I was looking at the smaller of the two, I noticed he was missing an eye. I thought maybe he had just lost it to a more aggressive fish, but on closer examination, I realized he had no eyes at all! What's more, there doesn't appear to be any scarring. It's as if he might have been born this way. He was more active than the other goby once I introduced him to the tank, and now I can only imagine he was trying to figure out where he was. Has anybody ever heard of a fish who would normally have eyes not having any at all? I just thought it to be a bit of an odd deformity.
