My guppy died :(

Hello everyone, today my female guppy died  she got stuck to the filter intake. when i saw her i ran and shut off the filter but alas, it was too late. is there any way to prevent this from happening again? thanks

What type of filter? Someone may be able to suggest a screening. But fish rarely get pulled into the filter unless they are weak first, or very small like fry.

Hi mileshs95! I'm sorry you lost your Guppy friend. Yes I think we have all lost a fish to the uptake on a filter. Does it have a little strainer basket on the bottom? Sometimes a Betta or something with a flowy tail can get pulled to it and stuck. Short of that the only thing you can do is put some of your plastic plants around it, stick the up take tube right into a corner, or stand some rocks up around it.
That reduces your water flow but maybe it's a bit too strong right now anyway.
Give that a try.
Good luck.
