Male Danio fertlizing behavior?
I have a tank with 8 zebra danios and 2 glofish.
I believe one of the females dropped eggs in the water, many are floating in the water.
I wasn't trying to breed them, however I'm curious if anyone can comment on one fish's behavior to clue me in if this is breeding related or if he's sick.
He's definitely a male--one of 2 I think in the tank--keeping very low to the bottom, and to a single place in the tank. He seems healthy, is eating fine, not gasping ,etc. He is younger and smaller than the rest, too.
Water readings look great.
I'm guessing that maybe he's trying to fertilize eggs which land in the substrate?
Or, is he just being bullied by the aggressive females?
Thanks for any thoughts!
