Models vary, but some Eheim come with the filter pads but not any of the media, which is extra. However, if you're not setting it up now, you can get the media later; and you can use less expensive media, such as Fluval's ceramic disks, biomax, etc., which is 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of Eheim media. I have two Eheim canisters and I use Fluval media.
You really cannot better an Eheim. Other filters may operate as efficiently (or close enough), but so far Eheim has the track record for reliability and dependability. |
