Really Fat Harlequin Rasbora
I was looking to add another breed of fish to my aquarium, so I was at the local Petsmart. After some looking I noticed the Harlequin Rasbora and decided I had to have some. So now, the six i purchased are happily swimming with my Zebra Danios and Neon Tetras.
I've had them for four days. Today, two of them seem a little "portlier" than the others, with one being really fat. What could be causing this? Are they females laden with eggs? Did they eat too much and now can't poop? I generally don't notice when my fish poop. Or maybe I just need to get it an aquatic treadmill?
I think for the time being I can rule out droopsy. There is no issue with the scales and the fish is not lethargic.
Thanks in advance!
Either of your explanations is possible. How often do you feed and what are you feeding them?
It's funny seeing my danios with eggs.. looks like they ate another fish of the same size of themselves.
