1st---tank size and filter system? 2nd-- how big are the jags? after that i'd say most larger plecos should be fine. but remember jags can get quite large. they will easily outgrow a 55. personally i would keep it a jag only tank(with a pleco or two), when they get older will be beautiful fish. if aquascaped well you won't really need tankmates.
+1 and jags get HUGE. Up to 16in sometimes even a little bigger. I wouldn't keep them in anything less than an 180 when full grown. They will use every bit of that space.
Rubber ball's, chew toy's for dogs ,inline heater's rather than those placed in aquariums, stick on glass thermometer's, large driftwood branches, smooth riverstones, substrate depth no deeper than two inches to allow gravel vaccuming to be more effective.
when you decide to upgrade your system jags can be very rewarding. just to see potential check this website...aquamojo.com....photos...managuesne. mo devlin has raised some of the best looking speciems as well photography of them.
I just like the large aggressive looking cichlid and 1 day will have a huge tank Posted via Mobile Device
