Is my Balloon Mollie Pregnant?
I'am a little worried about one of our balloon mollies, I think she might be pregnant? She is very fat and always stays on the bottom and at the back of the tank. And she never use to, she would always be up at the front swimming with the male. But I'am not sure, she could also be sick as my nitite levels are very high and I'am battling to get them down! All the other fish look fine, Here's a picture what do you think?
Humm ... I'm not really an expert. I showed it to my wife, who seams convinced that's a male in the picture and not a female.
But the picture is a bit blurry... so not sure on that.
For your nitrates do massive water changes each day if you need to in order to get them down to ~20 ppm. You can do a 50% change at once.
Don't the males have bigger dorcel and tail fins?? also don't the have that tude like thing coming down ny there butt? Cause she dosn't look any thing like the white one I have in the tank that I thought was the male?
I guess I'll wing it!!!!!!! Thanx anyways!
Well I guess she was'nt pregnant, she died last night? Man this is turning out to be a very frustrating hobby, but I'am not giving up!! Maybe the high level of nitrites killed her, I did notice after a 50% water change yesterday the nitrite level went down. Sorry about the other comment I'am just frustrated.
