Loaches and Betta

Is it safe to put 2-3 dwarf chain loaches with a betta?

I don't know specifically what that fish is, but loaches are peaceful fish in general. I'm guessing because Betta's are at the top of the water column and loaches are at mid and bottom, that could work. See what others say.

You would need more than 2-3 of that loach; I would aim for 5-6 minimum. Check the profile, click the shaded name Dwarf Loach.

One never knows with a Betta, they can be docile (relatively speaking:-)) or a terror. Loaches are very active, always scampering around teh tank chasing one another--they have a high social structure within the group. This might annoy the sedate Betta, esp since this loach spends more time mid-water.

Byron.
