I currently have a 55 gallon planted tank with the following fish
3 green tiger barbs
3 spotted cory catfish
1 Bristlenose pleco
1 spotted ghost knife
1 dwarf gourami
1 blue angel
I have had my tank going for a couple months now. For the first month and a half I fed only flake food. As I started to get more diversified fish (bichir, angel, and black ghost knife), I began to feed blood worms as well. I normally drop a cube of blood worms in followed by some flake when the worms are gone. I have read some information saying that blood worms are not very healthy and shouldnt be fed every day. My question is, if that is the case, how often should I feed blood worms and what would be a better option to go along with my flake food on a daily basis for those fish that dont go for the flakes?
I didn't know that blood worms were "un healthy" for fish. I regularly feed them. Clown loaches love them.
things like blood worms should usually be feed about once a week. you should look into sinking pellets to go with the flakes. my fish love the pellets.
also, you will probably want to get more tiger barbs. they are very aggressive, especially if there are only a few of them. they are much better off and less likely to hurt each other or other fish if you have more than 6 of them (i started with five and had problems, have 9 now and no issues)
