40 Gallon Log
I got started in this hobby a few months ago with a 20 gallon aquarium. That was an exciting project and a great learning experience. However, I am starting to get bored with this tank and figured it was time to upgrade. So now I am in the process of setting up a 40 gallon breeder tank to transfer everything into. This will be a long process because I want to take my time and continue doing my research. So far, I have bought the tank, glass hood, and light fixture. I ordered an Eheim 2071, which should be on its way. Next week, I am going to start building my stand. I encourage all of you to follow along because I love the feed back and great advice that has gotten me so far into this hobby.
Sounds good, I look forward to following your journey.
40B is a great tank size. I just got one myself. I hope to do a build thread too. Mine will be setup for yellow neo shrimp.
I received my Eheim Pro 3 UltraG65 in the mail today! This looks like a great filter and I can't wait to build my stand so I can try it out. Hopefully I will get the stand built tomorrow. The basic from of it anyway. A video of the unboxing will be on my youtube channel in a couple days. Feel free to check it out. MrBigfish93's Channel - YouTube
I got my stand built today. Well the frame anyway. I still have to skin it and paint it black. I also got the back and sides of the tank painted today.
Nice! I'm basically in the same process as you with my 55G. I have the tank and am building the stand now. Will take my time with it too. No rush. Want to set it up right from the beginning! See this thread to see my progress on my tank stand so far:
I'll be following you as you go! :)
My LFS, Trilby Tropicals, just had a huge shipment of driftwood come in a couple of days ago. I wanted to see if I could find the perfect piece before all of the good peices were sold. I have to say, I think I found it. Well the second best anyway. I did find the perfect piece that was shaped like a triangle and would have been the perfect piece to aquascape around, but it was a couple inches to big. Oh well :-?
