I also would like to have at least two discuses in one of my tanks. They are madly expensive here. One can get over a 100 dollars! But they are schooling fish, aren't they? So keeping two would not be quite right... Is it obligatory to de-worm them? I have never heard of de-worming fish!
I would still like to put some discusses in a 40 gal tank together with one old veteran angel (who used to be mean to his own kind introduced before), 5 albino cories and some 10 neons... Maybe it's not a good idea? :?
discus will eat the neons, surprisingly ur angel didnt already. the problem with two is that one might pick on the other one to the point it dies, and when alone it will get stressed and die. but it all depends on the fish.
i love discus too, but i convinced myself that i need to wait. if u rehome maybe ur other fish u can get 4 discus and that would be better.
Thank you for the advice! I will not hurry with them - that's for sure.
My angels in the big tank do not even look at neons and cardinals. But they are still in their teens, I do not know what they will be up to in some time.
Thank you for that temperature info, Lupin. I never realised neons and cardinals might need different conditions. Cardinals could probably tolerate lower temps as well. It's discusses who are so fussy. I guess they need a separate tank anyway.
I have stocked my tanks and the only one that's empty so far is the one at work. But I do not want my discusses there! I will wait till I have some ideas. Thanks again.
