Fry Tank Is a live plant in a 10l tank enough oxygen for fry? It has a filter but I'm scared it will suck the babies up. I've been told to put a live plant in instead. Would this work? |

Yes, you should take the filter out of the tank because the fry WILL be sucked up the pipe but replace it with a cheap sponge filter which can be bought for only a few dollars. The sponge filters are not as efficient as other filters but it only needs to stay in the tank for about three/four weeks or so until you think the fry are too big to gety sucked up. |
Yup get a sponge filter, fry need good oxygen saturation in their tank to help them grow, and actually I use sponge filters in two of my tanks as the permanent filters, they do their job well, creating a place for the beneficial bacteria to colonize. |
