I know this is a subject that has been covered to death, and we are all sensible people who are able to weigh up whether to take advice from our LFS staff, on a case by case basis, depending on our own knowlege/research and how well we know the staff.
However, sometimes you just have to stand back and admire the pure platonic example of bad advice given. Not trying to sell something, not giving hearsay, not some half baked answer to an already controversial topic. Just a simple, awe inspiring, answer to what should have been a simple question. I mean, an honest "I don't know" would have satisfied me but...
I went in to a LFS near me, started chatting aimlessly about the weather and other such things with the new lass there whilst wandering past the FW fish section, saw one i liked and didn't recognise... and then this happened...
Me: Ooh, that's pretty. What's that?
LFS Lady: Erm.. hang on... I remember. That's a baby dolphin.
Me: Erm. OK. Really? I'll just have a look around myself for a bit if you don't mind...
Never did find out what it was.[/u]
'Oh dear' indeed. You should have asked her how big a tank you would need to keep the dolphin in ;)
good thing they didnt tell you it was a whale or lohness monster or something.
lol are you sure she worked there?
I would have said...
"perfect! do you have any miniature seaworld parks for sale too?"
Re: Oh dear...
Well your at it, you could ask why she doesnt have her wetsuit on.
you should have told her that you dont believe in killing dolphins, as you are buying them as feeder fish. then ask if she has any baby dolphin safe baby tuna!!
