recently i got four guppy fry from a pet store just for fun to raise because i want to learn to breed fish but i need to start somewhere before i really get into it right  . two of them are aprox. 1-1.5 cm and they are in a tank with three black phantom tetras which are bigger and then i also got two smaller fry, one just over a cm and one thats still under .5mm in a small marina betta tank (without the betta) i was wondering if its okay to put the two smaller ones into the tank with the black phantoms? would they eat the tiny fry or leave them alone from your experiences? the tank is about 5 gallons wi th half gravel on one side with a plastic plant and the other half small irregular rocks. there is a elite stingray internal filter.. woudl that suck up the fry?
I don't think that they would eat them, but they will definately chase them. Put some more plants in there or hiding places if you plan to keep them together.
Re: guppy fry
Internal filters may easily suck the fry. Sponge filters are always recommended in tanks where fry are reared.
the fry love a bunch of java moss to play in
