Picked up some more gravel, should I do any more than rinse it?

I got 25 more lbs of gravel today because I'm going to add more plants to my tank and what I have is only 1in, 2in in some places. Anyways it's the same kind I used before, brown stuff from walmart. I'm going to rinse it in hot and then cold water right now, and then add it.. But is there anything else I should do first, and will it mess up my tanks "cycle"? Because it will cover some of the current gravel, of course...

Sorry I post so many topics, I have so many questions and I can finally find answers  haha

Oh and I'm just going to add this, if I get driftwood my lfs has had in a tank for months now, will it still lower my pH a lot?

If I buy it new I plant to soak it for 9 days or so and maybe boil it, I don't want many tannins and I don't want a major pH drop. Malaysian kind.

If you add some new, stir, add some new and repeat, not all of the old gravel will be buried and it will be better. :-)
