Hey EVeryone!!!

Hey Everyone. My names Jamie. I'm 22 years old. I got a 6 gallon tank for christmas.I love it, it's my first tank. I got 4 tetras and 1 red tail shark. Here's a picture.:-D

Hi Jamie,

Welcome to TFK and congrats. on your first tank. If you're like the majority of us, you'll be wanting more tanks soon :)

Just want to point out that the red tailed shark can get up to 6" or more and does require a much larger tank to thrive. I would consider re-homing or returning it unless you already have plans for an upgrade.

have you read about freshwater tank cycling?

i agree with the red tail shark. congrats on the new tank though, and welcome to the forum.

Sometimes, I only have one plant in there. Should I add more?

Welcome!

Is that a Fruval Edge I think? I have one of those as well (if it is) And love that tank.
I have it sitting here next to my monitor where I can watch it often. I gave up on keeping it filled up to the very top as it should be a while back, but it still looks really cool and the fish seem happier that way anyway.

yes i would, and add perhaps a little cave or two,the more cover fish have, you'll
often find the more they will come out,as they feel less threatened.
