biowheels or under-tank sump?
i have a under-tank sump and i wanna get rid of it (too much cleaning and filling of water) it's nice since water never goes down to a certain level but was wondering if two of the biowheel filters would work better or the same or what. i was thinking like a 350 emperor. its on a 60 gallon tank with live rock, live sand and one anemone and just fish.

any thoughts?

Emperor 350? I thought the only models they had were the 400(my favorite) and the 280. Are you referring to the Marineland 350, perhaps.? I like that one, too. I am curently using the Marineland 350 on some of my 29g tanks. It's all about gph and the effectiveness of the filtering system. The Marineland 350 and the Emperor 280 or 400 will serve you well.

Here it is as I see it. You are going to have to add water and do maintainance at regular intervals anyway. I only have a sump in one of my tanks and it is fresh water. I have no sw tanks yet, but I do know that regualr maintainance is a must with both. Now, it comes down to ease of maintainance. Is it easier to clean power filters or is it easier to clean sumps. In my case, I have power filters in my sump as well as pumps, media bio-balls, et al. The biggest advantage I can see to using a sump is the introduction of more dissolved oxygen to the system. For those doubters out there, my disolved oxygen in the "sump" tank is significantly higher than those using "normal", less exotic systems. In my case the "sump" tank can house more fishes.
