New Tank Mates! - Skunk Cory (Corydoras Arcuatus)
Hi guys, yesterday I got myself four new Corys! They're called Skunk Corys (or if you want to know the clever stuff the scientific name is Corydoras Arcuatus) and have a nice pale white colour with two black stripes, I'm in love! haha.
I didn't know Corys swam a lot too.. All four range from 1" to 1 1/2". Most of the time they are all together or off in two pairs (quite cute really), however sometimes the same one likes to venture off whilst the other 3 stay together. They're loving the plants too, they like to nibble the soil cubes that two plants are in and love to sit inside the small leaves :-)
As with the Bristlenose, he isn't too sure yet. He chases them, but not a lot. I mean, if he sees them, he won't go after them. It's just when they're right in front of his face that he doesn't like it, and he gets a little mean when he sees food, but he just shoos them off, eats a little, then goes away and lets them carry on. Quite proud of my little guy, he's sharing the food instead of carrying it away 8-)
So anyway, here's the vid! (In the vid they're in scavenge mode, you can see the wafer in the vid too. Usually they're playing in the plants or messing around with the current from the filter :-D Didn't make a vid yesterday as they were seriously nervous and would disappear every time I went near the tank, they've gotten a little used to me now though).
Supercute! Love Corydoras, they are so playful:)
I know! It's how they seem to play together and simultaneously look for food ha
