Identify this cichlid

About a month ago i picked up this ci:-ihlid from a LFS and they told me it was a Managuense cichlid. It does not look like one or is it?:-?

Lol one of my favorite central american cichlid, Hypsophrys nicaraguensis. My pair was so coloarful and so uch fin too keep I regret getting rid of them. Truly unique and stunning fish.

Thanks alot, been trying to identify it for a while now. Both names are so similar; Managuense and Nicaraguensis.

Yes but they are very different fish. One fun fact about these guys is in the wild nics have been seen aiding female dovii in raising their fry.
