assassin snail in brackish?
Hello, could anyone tell me if assassin snails will tolerate brackish water? SG 0.003 - 0.008 tops. I just bought a bunch of plants that happened to come with ramhorn snails (of course). I've seen quite a few of them, so I'm foreseeing an outbreak in my near future and want to know if assassins would be an option. Thanks!

what are the fish you are keeping in there?
assassin snails may tollerate BW but certainly will live shortened lives... as will the ramshorns.

I'm keeping bumblebee gobies. Chances are I won't let the salinity get much above 0.005 anyway, but I've read that it's good to let it vary over the course of months. I guess I'll just wait and see if the snails get bad. Maybe the salt till even out the pest snail population. Thanks for the input!

the one thing I can guarantee is that a stable tank is a dead tank. The SG will flux from 1.005 + when you have evap and lower when you top off. Water changes are never an exact match but they are close. Temperature fluxes; with plants, O2 will flux as will pH (high O2 in the day & low pH with the opposite during the night).
Focus on what is best for the fish and I wouldn't sweat the snails. If you are over feeding or not doing regular maintenance than they may grow into a problem. At higher SG levels, I doubt the eggs will survive.
