Angelfish

I have 2 small angelfish and would like to know if I could a couple more?
In my tank I have a redtail shark, upsidedown catfish, rosy barb amd 5 rummynose tetrasand a pleco.

Depends entirely on the size of your tank. What size is it?

Keep an eye on the tetras. As soon as the angels are big enough that the tetras can fit in their mouths, you might find the tetras disappearing.

It is a 40 gallon tank so far the tetras and angels are getting along.

IMHO a 40g is much too small even for 2 angels. I certainly wouldn't add any more I'm afraid.

Thank you If and when I get a new tank what size would be a good one I was thinking around a 100 gallon

100g sounds good and I think you would be fine then to add the other 2 angels that you wanted to add with a 100g.

Hope it goes well for you. :)

40g tank heaps of angels would fit in there depending on what type some get big!

I don't know of any anel that doesn't get big. What species are there that stay small? I'm interested. :)

There are only three species identified so far: Pterophyllum scalare, Pterophyllum altum and Pterophyllum leopoldi. Regardless of the strains of scalare angels, they will still grow in similar size. If there is a small species, then it is a runt. A 40g would fit only 4 at most.

I dont know what they are called but I see them when I go to my lfs. They have a tank of them on the counter apparently their 5 years old. They are black with red eyes and a blue sheen to them, I will ask them next time I go what they are. I hope their not stunted :(

their 7cm in diameter (excluding tail)
