lots of good info there. Mine laid eggs all the time but no babies. The egg clutch would dry out. It is really important that you have the correct humidity. |
well iv looked on that website iv looked everywhere i was hoping for some personal information web not much use their not laying eggs just mating and no offense but i hate when people try to redirect you i prefer if they could actual help and give some information they might know |
I thought that was the humidity comment was all about. |
mine laid eggs all the tiem as well, clutch just dried out or rainbows ate it. i know that the snails usually lay their eggs on land on the edge of the water were they can stay moist. in teh aquarium though, this exposes them to the lights form the aquarium and in temps (at least in my tank) that are higher at the surface and dries them out |
so should i turn light of coz myn dont lay eggs at all just mate no eggs |
I was simply stating that even if they lay eggs they most likely will not hatch I doubt turning lights off would help Posted via Mobile Device |
ok well im would like to have egg clutches to hatch so maybe thiers a way around tthat i could put a wet towld on top with a fan maybe to mkeep it moist |
you will have to try different things. I wouldn't do the fan option, that will make them dry out quicker. The wet paper towel or toilet paper is an excellent idea though. Another I have read is where they remove the clutch all together and float it in the tank on styrofoam or a margarine tub lid. I can't see this working because if it is drying out at the rim of the tank, it will dry out at the center. |
i was think turnm of light take lid off put a wet towl over top and see what happens but first my snails need to lay eggs -.- idk why they arent its been nearly 4 weeks they mate every day |
