Bristlenose Pleco Feeding Problem
Got my bristlenose pleco today for my 10 gallon but he hasn't come off the walls of the tank for a good 3 or 4 hours. I'm concerned as when I drop his pellet in near where he is in the tank he doesn't notice it fall past him. Do I just wait for him to go on the floor so he will see it or what?? Please help, I'm just concerned as I don't want him going too long without food

I would shut off the tank light and the light in the room and leave him alone for a few hours.
They are shy fish and prefer the dark.
Too much attention will stress him out, and he can go a few hours without eating.

Lights on the tank are out as well as the room, pitch black for him now. Will see how he's doing later

Don't worry. Plecos sometimes take a while to recognize that new types of food are actually food. I would guess that he did not get fed much in the fish store and has become accustomed to grazing all over just to find a little food. Just do what ogre suggested and give him some food before lights out. Once he starts recognizing what it is he will be on it as soon as it hits the water.
