kay guys, how do u deal with these
tiny air bubbles wrapped in sand?
Hmm, I've never seen anything like this before. Where are the bubbles coming from.. do you have an airstone in the tank?
I think what I'd probably do is rake through the sand using a plastic fork.
the sand was just placed in... its weird the more i move the sand they make more or sometimes less..idk its weird. u think is lethal to the fish?
If you just put the sand in, was it wet first (meaning, did you rinse it)? I assume you got sand approved for tank use.
It looks like the grains have not "wetted" properly, trapping air through the surface tension of the water...weird you say sometimes it gets worse when you mix it up...perhaps some sort of static cling...do like kateyoup says and rake it. If that doesn't work, try a metal fork
If nothing else works, take it out, put in a bucket with water and mix the heck out of it...
thats what i did before (mixing like a mad man) and then again in the tank.
Where did you get the sand Meg?
big als. it was called ultra reef, and it said it was safe for fresh and salt water!
is there water in the sand in that photo, i just dumped my sand in my tank and added water and it smoothed out real nice.
see i did that too but i got bubbles! its ok its starting to clear now :)
