what other kits should i be buying.

Well I don't know anything about the test you have but you NEED the following:
pH (have)
Ammonia (have)
NitrItes
NitrAtes

Very useful tests include:
GH
KH

Being I do not know how reliable your test kit isd, and just to be safe, test it a couple times and have your LFS test it just to be sure it is accurate. I calibrate most of my tests anyway, even the liquid regent test kits, so this really goes for any test kit.

got it... so i am going to get a test kit for nitrites and nitrates...

i read a few articles about GH and KH  i dont even want to go there, LOL.

thanks...

Also Nutrafin is a good master kit if you want to get some extras to play with.

I have heard that the best phosphate test kit is Red Sea and is a lot easier to read and get accurate numbers.
