So I recently adopted four GloFish (which are just Zebrafish, for those who don't know). I'm new to tanks with more than one fish, so I don't really know anything about mating. I think two of mine are female, but I can't be sure. So I took some video of them to have all of your opinions. The yellow and the blue/purple fish are the two I'm wondering about:
If they are female...what do I do about unplanned breeding? I have no idea how to do any of this. I'd love to actually have them produce babies, but I have no idea how to go about this.
I don't think anyone could tell you without getting way closer. I wouldn't worry about breeding at this time. I think you need excellent conditions etc,. for Glofish to breed, IMO. What makes you think your fish are thinking about breeding? I do love the colors - very pretty fish.
I know Glofish are hardy fish, but I've not heard about them breeding easily.
Most fish (livebearers being the notable exception) don't normally breed in home aquaria. Fish have certain environmental cues that trigger breeding. Many of those aren't normally found in home aquaria without purposeful alteration. I don't think you have anything to worry about. But if you do want to see babies, get some guppies.
