How do you probably quarantine this fish?
What I mean is that my QT has no algae to provide a food source.
I do have several pieces of slate in my main tank covered with diatoms, but I don't know if it would be sufficient to support 4 Oto's during quarantine.
Get a clear container/small spare fish tank, and put around 5-10 river rocks in it or the slate. Make sure they arent stacked up on one another, so algae growth is as quick as possible.
Put a cover on the container. Place in the sun (outside if warm or in a window). Wait around 3-4 days until you start seeing algae growth.
You can use that slate too some food is better then none, especially while growing the new food.
