2 small schools or 1 big school?
Hi! I'm still stocking my 29 gal community tank, and was wondering: which will look better, two small schools of 4-6 neon tetras and 4-6 zebra danios, or one big school of 8-12 tetras or danios? I really want them to school, but I don't think they will be very scared in my tank, because it is a community, so what should I do? I like the danios active personality and the tetras' attractive colors and active schooling. Please help!

I would go for the two small schools, or a large school of tetras. It seems like the more tetras you have in a school, the more beautiful they are when they do school.

I've got the exact same setup as you. I opted to go with two schools, danios and neon tetras. I will also be adding a school of Cories to swim around the bottom of the tank. My idea was to have some fish swim at the top of the tank, the middle, and the lower end of the tank. Good luck with your aquarium!
