Thanks I was trying to get different views of the plants, from up to down, to side to side. My favorite is the very very close up of one of my little plants. Its the 9th one down from the top. It shows the features of the plant. That little guy is cool because he came up on the very edge of the glass so you can see the progress of it's roots. |

How have your plants grown with the addition of CO2? Have you noticed a difference? Also, I see you have lucky bamboo in there - I read that lucky bamboo can not be completely submerged or it will begin to rot. How is this working out for you? I would love to put some in my tank! |

Hey everyone...LONG NIGHT! Well.....I Just recently took the CO2 out because I have to remake the recipe because it was out of CO2 but i dont have any yeast so im going ot the store this week. I did notice a difference in my plant growth. They all seemed to get really greener, which means more healthier. And recently I have been observing this plant that started out with one little leaf about a CM long and now it grown to about a foot with 5 or 6 big stringy leaf's since i added the DIY CO2. Regarding the bamboo. I have 2 in the tank. They really havnt grown much since ive had them which is since ive had my 55 gallon....I dont know the secret really to growing them but I know they have been growing because when i re-arranged my plants and took the bamboo out of there spot there was a lot of new roots growing out...I have know idea if there sposed to be out of water or what but how else would you grow them? I am just going to wait and see!!! Thanks for all the input I'm all free for question cause everyone knows that i dont mind it!!! Nick |
I have lucky bamboo (which is not really bamboo, by the way) in my office and it grows slow. How long have you actually had it in your tank? Also, the bamboo piece itself will not grow, but leaves will shoot out of the sides and grow vertically in a stalk-like manner. I recently added 10+ plants to my 90gal and had yet to setup CO2. The plants were starting to look brown and unhappy. I setup CO2 this morning and almost instantly I can see the plants photosynthesizing - little air bubbles streaming out of the plants! Pretty neat! |

Bamboo plants will never thrive in aquariums as they are totally submerged. They will if kept in a paludarium as they are given partial submerging conditions. Take note that plants meant to grow outside water will never last very long in submerged conditions. |
