Sponge Filter Ceramics Rings I am currently using a sponge filter in a 10 gallon tank to raise fry. There would be room for about 5 or 6 ceramic rings to fit in the center of the sponge filter housing. I can't help but think that the ceramic rings would help to house additional helpful bacteria. Would it be benificial to put some ceramic rings inside the sponge filter to help with biological filtration? Thanks in advance for any responses, Trapperwolves |
I don't think you'd benefit from adding media to the middle channel as much as the flow-through of the sponge filter might suffer. Just amke sure the sponge is correctly or over-sized and it should not be an issue. I'm running a 40 gallon with only a sponge filter/powerhead combo. |
