Dirty glass inside? Hey i have been noticeing that my tank has this see through sludge, and it gets on my nerves. I dont know what it is but it makes the water look foggy and I dont like it, i usualy get rid of it by doing complete cleaning of the tank, does anyone know what it is. Is it normal or does it effect the fish. Is there any fish that will eat it or clean it or should i use a magnetic cleaner? |
Welcome! Can you provide more info. What size tank, how long set up, what fish, substrate, any plants, water parameters? That would help diagnose. |
It is a 10-gallon with an onion plant (i belive), gem gravel accents, pair of shortfin mollies, set up for about month and a half, dont have a test kit but i would say the water is in grate condition. |
Diatoms on the glass? When you wipe the inside glass with a plain white paper towel, does it come off brown? |
Nope nothing colored, i did just wipeit with a paper towel and nothing it just came off |
It could be just a bio-film. Just wipe the inside front glass at each water change with an algae scrubber or paper towel. It's not harmful to the fish. |
Thanks for the answer. Good to know that its is just Bio-Film. :-):-) |
