My crazy assassin snail
I have many assassin snails in my 55 gallon. One of them though has developed a strange.. well.. hobby.. I'll try to explain this as best I can...
He extends his foot out fill and uses it and water surface tension to float on the top. He will then catch the surface turbulence caused by the HOB filter and will seek out this flow to ride it around like he's having fun on a water slide...
Otherwise he seems healthy, happy.. if you touch him he will retract and sink to the bottom, only to climb back up the glass and catch the waves again!
None of the other snails or fish are acting weird. Everyone seems healthy and happy, and the tank is stable.
Do I have a California surfer variety assassin snail or is there something really wrong? LOL
LOL I don't know anything about assassin snails, but that sounds very interesting! You should take a video of that! I hope he is well and is just a very gnarly snail!
I have no idea what's going on, but I'm very entertained by your imagery. You painted a very funny picture! Thanks!
Good luck finding out what he's up to!
haha.. You're snail is an adrenaline junky.. mine just bred =)
