Do I have to bleach after ich if I re-cycle?
I had a fish, and alas he did not make it through the ich. My son won him from the fair:( and I was trying to help him but I think I just stressed him out:( (he was going to go to a pond after that) Well right now i am working on cycling my tank, anwho, all I did after my fishy died was take do a 100% water change and rinse the decor off, I bought a new filter and jacked up the temp to 90 F. There aren't any fish in there, but from what I've read about the ich cycle, won't they just die off by the time my cycle is done and I get the fishes?
Yes, you won't have anything to worry about. With no host, they will die off and with the high temp you are speeding up the life cycle of any that may be still present. Are you doing a fishless cycle than?
You can use some fish food to create waste, and that will be how you'll get ammonia, which will be the beginning of the cycle process
Definately worth doing it without fish :)
