Black Skirt Tetra hiding

Hey everyone! I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the breeding section, but anyway...

One of my female black skirt tetras has been acting kind of weird lately. Yesterday she was hiding behind the plant, and now she's in a plant (the same one). FYI, the plant is a very realistic looking but nonetheless fake plant.

I only have 3 of them, because I'm finishing up my cycle. So, my question is: Is she doing this because she's stressed (She hasn't turned black in the 2 weeks I've had her) or because she's about to lay eggs? She's not that swollen or anything... actually, it seems to have gone down in the past 2-3 days (no eggs though...).

Thanks!!!!

P.S. She's also not eating much. I DID get her 2 weeks after my other fish, could it be she's just still adjusting to the other fish, new tank, et al?

More likely stressed, not laying eggs. Sorry to say.

I agree with Gwen. The tetra is probably stressed. It could be from going through the cycling process or because Black widow tetra (or black skirt tetras) need to be in groups of 6+. I would add more to the group once the cycling process is over.

I agree with Gwen and Boredomb. Also, this could be a response to internal damage from before.
