Saying Goodbye to Molly :(
My first Molly, and certainly not my last. Her time has come :( She's been fighting diseases, problem after problem for weeks now and i'm at my wits end (and so is my wallet) with medication treatments. In her lifetime she was healthy for maybe 3-4 weeks out of the 2 months I've had her. She's survived by one fry, one very special fry. I will miss her. My first molly to ever make me fall in love with Lyretail Mollies and the art of livebearing. I don't have any clove oil to put her in, but everywhere I've read, it seems the freezer method is the most humane compared to flushing, and I can't bring myself to chop her head off. I hope she enjoys fish heaven, and gets some good sleep. :'(
I'm sorry to post this here, it seems like the best closure/mourning for me, because I know some of you out there can relate.
They require specific water chemistry (hard alkaline ) ,and do better as a whole in slightly brackish condition's (tablespoon of salt per five gallons) which most other freshwater fishes would find uncomfortable to intolerable over time.
Sorry to hear about your fish.
So sorry that you lost Molly :(
Thanks...I realized afterwards I posted it in the wrong thread...whoops, lol didnt mean to be a buzzkill for everyone, haha
