Ground Cover
 

65g bowfront..double T5HO...already planted, but will be changing from gravel (bleh) to flourite (yay!) shortly. No CO2. Most of the plants grow wildly, but I have had trouble with plants growing 'up'...to the point all you is stem, and the leaves are pretty much curling on top. Experienced this with rotala and giant hygro. Not sure if this is not enough nutrients in the gravel, or not enough light. I have a lot of jungle val, various swords and crypts, rotala, madagascar lace, etc.

I'm interested in ground cover. I planted some dwarf sag a while ago, and it maintained but didn't grow much. I tried some dwarf hair grass too, it did ok potted but when I took it out it died slowly. This might be due to the gravel..it couldn't root well being so fine..so once again hoping the flourite will resolve this. What would be best to try to plant?

There are several kinds out there. You could try Pygmy chain sword or Dwarf baby tears. Just Google substrate covering plants or grass like plants. I don't know what the "best" would be to try through.
